This was the view from our hotel in Florence.
The oldest bridge in Florence (Ponte Vecchio). It probably would have looked more awesome without the scaffolding of course.
This is the castle (about an hour's drive from Florence) where the wedding was. It was so beautiful - surrounded by vineyards and olive groves - it reminded me very much of where I grew up in New Zealand (not the castle but the vineyards etc).
The five people in the foreground of this picture were all at my table. We all had a great time together.
Hilary and me.
Hilary and me again, by now quite drunk.
A slightly blurry pic of the beautiful bride.
Me in front of Il Duomo.
We met up again with the wedding party the next night at this incredible hotel terrace.
Ducklings in Lake Como!
Our favourite piazza.
Me in front of the lake at night.
We took a boat ride up the lake and back. This is a view from the boat.
I really want to stay in that hotel. LOOK AT THE POOL.
We got off at Bellagio and had a look around. It's very pretty (as every town is on Lake Como) but we didn't care for it because it seemed to be built entirely for tourists. I actually prefer Como itself because while there are lots of tourists there they're mostly Italian so it has a local feel to it.
This is me trying to show you how sunburned my thighs and arms got on the boat.
I've included this because it's a nice one of me and Hilary, even though the photo is too dark.
And that was my holiday!
