I just told amandajane5 a secret: I hate sharing icons. And whenever I see anyone else I know using an icon I have, I almost always delete mine (grumpily). I guess it's about two things. 1) Being original is important to me. 2) Our icons represent us; they're like a signature. And if my signature is the same as twenty other people's signature, then it ceases to be mine. Yknow?
There are many clichés that chap my butt. A few off the top of my head:
1. Every. Single. Time you see a man shaving in television or film, you *know* he's going to nick himself. I'm sick of it.
2. When a character calls out someone else's name in the heat of the moment (as in, the person they're in love with instead of the person they're having sex with). OH PLEASE. That is so unrealistic and the absolute height of stupidity. Sure, let them imagine they're fucking someone else if you must, but I really don't think it's very romantic for Lex to scream out Clark's name when he's screwing someone else. It's just sad and pathetic and dumb. Also, has that ever actually happened to anyone in real life? Or is it just something that happens in the movies (and badfic)?
There are many clichés I love also, but I can't think of any right now.
What about you lot? Tell me about clichés you love or hate, or tell me how weird you are about icons.
