I figured since this is our first Sunday night without Mad Men in our lives I'd make a post for y'all to mingle in to help with that empty feeling.

A few weeks ago Greg told me he was thinking of proposing to Amanda on the ten year anniversary of their relationship. He was asking for advice on rings etc. I am not normally a romantic person (unless it's my OTP on screen. LOL) but I was quite excited about this for some reason. I've never seen an engagement from the man's side before so it was quite sweet seeing him get all nervous and freaked out about the whole thing. Anyway, he came into work on Friday with a ring to show. It was lovely.

Just had a text saying he proposed yesterday and she said yes. D'aww!!! I have demanded full details when he gets back to work on Wednesday.

In less happy news I am having VLC issues. Every time I try to use 'E' to move forward a frame the whole programme freezes on me and the only way to close it down is to reboot my computer. It's happened several times now and considering I only started using it on Friday this is not good. Yes, I have the most recent version.

Part 2 in my picspamming thing. Note the rooftop scene has been divided into pieces, sometimes slightly illogical ones, but that's just where my divisions fell. *shrugs* The rooftop scene is really long, so I had to do something.

Hmm. It smells vaguely like part of my building caught fire, and the smoke alarm is going off somewhere.

WHATEVS. I just got back from J2 over at Creation Con, and as I'm sure people are already writing actually good con reports with pictures and whatever, I will just share my three five favorite moments:

1) Someone asked if Sam and Dean are ever going to get the phone call cleared up on screen. Jensen had no clue what the person was talking about, but Jared knew about the fake message shenanigans, and Jensen was all: oh, but wasn't that just in your head? And Jared's all: no, I think Sam really believes in the phone call that lied! Jensen: Maybe you should just ask him. So then Jared pulled a funny face and decided to "Ask Sam" and Sam said that no, Sam didn't know what the real phone message said.

If I'd gotten up and asked a question, it'd have been something along the lines of: When's the show going to acknowledge that if Dean had totes just let Sam die, Sam would've probably gone to Heaven at that point, and Dean wouldn't have broken the first seal, and if Castiel hadn't let Sam out in the first place, then HEY MAYBE MORE PEOPLE THAN SAM should be glared at so much of the time for startin' the apocalypse.

But I refrained! Jensen's answer (where he had absolutely no clue about ANYTHING) strangely made me feel better about Dean.

2) Someone asked "if you were both available, and had to write each other's match.com profiles, what would you say about the other?" And they skated around it very nicely with:

Jared: Texas. Will take anything!
Jensen: I can do it in three words too! Single. White. Female.

3) Someone asked them what dreams they hadn't accomplished yet, and Jensen got all succinct and soft about it, and said "Kids." And Jared agreed, and the thought of little Ackles and little Padalecki babies, omg. Jensen said that Jared won't be allowed to babysit because of a comment he made about throwing the kid--out of a plane? something. I somehow think Jensen will come around.

4) Jared got all sweaty and Jensen mocked him, so someone gave him a box of kleenex that he shoved down his shirt, and Jensen snatched a tissue, while Jared tossed his behind him, and I keep thinking that one of those tissues is gonna wind up on ebay. Or in a picture frame.

5) Jensen talked about when he was doing Sam's post-death scene, Kim blocked off the entire set with a black tarp, so it was just a camera in the corner that he couldn't see, and Jared and Jensen in the room, and he talked about how amazing that was and how much that helped him. Sigh.

Oh, and at the end, Jared discussed his mom's charity in Texas, and said he'd be auctioning off Sam's S3 watch, and one of the Creation people had them do the auction right then and there, and Jared was all: I don't know how! And Jensen went for it in full auctioneer mode, and some awesome lady in the front row bought that thing for $2500.00 (maybe 3500?) and Jared totally looked like he was going to cry and went down there and said a few words to her personally.

In conclusion: Boys. \o/ They were both adorable, and they both really *tried* to give great answers, and no one asked any terrible questions that made me want to beat them, and Jensen even said he'd love to do this all day. SUCCESS.

Speaking of obsessions, I'm currently torn apart and consumed by two things. The first one I'm rediscovering with great joy and the other I'm a tiny bit embarassed about.

I'm currently watching and rewatching half of his filmography and he makes me flail and flail and flail. I've not rewatched Pride and Prejudice just yet but I know that, in my state, when I do, it will probably take a week to recover. I still have a hard time getting over the outfit he was wearing in the ending credits of Mamma Mia! and THE HOTTEST. TANGO. EVER. he danced in Easy Vertue. I'm so obsessed right now I'm considering going to see A Christmas Carol and Dorian Gray.

DAMN YOU COLIN, YOU AND YOUR SUDDEN (right) BUT INEVITABLE CHARISMA.


The other obsession is about the first ever gay couple to appear on a soap opera, which is why I feel REALLY pathetic, except that they're awesomecakes and I'm so into it it hurts.


Noah Mayer/Luke Snyder aka Nuke from As The World Turns



I started watching their storyline a week ago and I'm almost halfway through the 387 parts omg. It's a soap so they live batshit lives and have a gazillion issues and always end up in the hospital. So yes, I promised myself not to pimp it because it's mostly ridiculous (and lulzy) but it's like a total trainwreck because I AM ENTHRALLED AND CANNOT STOP WATCHING. I fell for Luke almost immediately and had a hard time liking Noah at first. The sad thing is that I LOVE NOAH LIKE PIE NOW (and I adore his voice for some reason) and I'm completely obsessed with the pairing. They have such a burning chemistry that I think it was bound to end like this. Woe.

The second mistake I made is search for stuff about the actors and look for interviews because guess what ? Jake Silbermann (Noah) collects comic books and took part in a Star Trek RPG and Van Hansis (Luke) is a horror movies fan. YES, THEY ARE TEH SWEETEST AND AWESOMEST AMDSLJDJSDMDJA. Oh and Van is gayer than a rainbow and dates his clone.


So I won't pimp it because it's a soap and really, no I can't recommend it to anyone but Luke and Noah, despite the lulzy context, are quickly becoming one of my favourite pairing in the history of ever.

DAMN. This really wasn't supposed to happen. I kinda lost an afternoon doing this. On the bright side it's almost DW TIEM YAY.

I still have tons of things to say about last night's Merlin (which was AMAAAAZING), White Collar and Legend of the Seeker but I'll leave that for another post.

Time to avoid the Flist and Twitter and refresh a certain page like crazy. *FIDGETS*
