So when Neil Patrick Harris or T.R. Knight or N-Sync or whoever else publicly come out, it makes me happy. It makes me think that times are changing and that finally the many, many closeted queers in Hollywood can make like the Brits and admit it out loud already. They can stop taking their sisters and mothers to award ceremonies, they can give up their beards and merkins and start holding hands in public with people they’re actually sleeping with.
I don’t think it’s the responsibility of every gay actor out there to be political about their sexuality of course. If Kevin Spacey doesn’t want to make a public announcement about it, fine whatever. He’s shamelessly, indiscreetly gay in London and everyone knows it and he doesn’t hide it, and he has a HILARIOUS reputation over here (apparently he likes them young and pretty!).
I just hate knowing that there are hundreds of gay celebrities in America (and elsewhere) pretending to be straight.
JUST ADMIT IT TOM. YOU NEVER KNOW IT MIGHT MAKE US LIKE YOU AGAIN.
PS. Remember the volley ball scene in Top Gun? That's what I call cold hard proof people.
